Fatty Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 11, 2026
Fatty is provided by EBOXLAB LLC. This policy describes the Fatty iPhone application's data practices and information you choose to send for Fatty support. The company's website has a separate website privacy policy.
Your photos stay under your control
Fatty copies photos and videos from your iPhone Photo Library to storage you select. It does not require a Fatty account, upload your media to EBOXLAB LLC, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or track you across other apps and websites.
Photo Library and selected storage
With your permission, Fatty reads the photo and video resources Apple makes available to the app. With Limited Photo Library access, only the items you allow are accessible for backup. You can change this permission in iPhone Settings.
You authorize the destination using Apple's folder picker. Fatty saves ordinary media files, backup verification records, and session/recovery information there. File names and metadata preserved within original media may contain personal information, including location information. The archive remains readable without Fatty.
The current release does not back up general Files folders, SMS, MMS, or iMessage conversations. It is not a full iPhone backup.
Information stored locally
Fatty stores preferences, permission and onboarding state, a security-scoped reference to the destination you authorized, and technical information needed for backup and recovery. Trial and Lifetime Access eligibility are determined from verified Apple StoreKit transactions. Fatty may retain local Keychain and external-manifest mirror dates for offline continuity and migration, but those records cannot start, reset, or extend a trial without verified Apple purchase history. The seven-day trial is a separate free Apple-confirmed purchase. It does not renew or convert automatically into a paid purchase. Lifetime Access is a separate one-time purchase.
Apple processes in-app purchases. Fatty checks verified purchase information using Apple's StoreKit services; EBOXLAB LLC does not receive your payment-card details through the app. Apple's privacy terms apply to its services.
Fatty starts fresh application sessions in the Old Mac theme. A different theme selected during a session is not automatically restored on the next fresh launch.
Apple services
Apple's Photo Library services may retrieve originals from iCloud when they are not on the iPhone. Fatty offers a preference for cellular retrieval, which is off by default. Apple's services and your device settings also govern those requests.
Diagnostics and support
Fatty keeps a limited local history of technical event codes. Export Diagnostics creates a report only when you request it. The report excludes media, filenames, Photo Library identifiers, drive names and paths, device names, and user identity. It includes technical details such as the app/OS version, current app state, selected theme, and event codes. You choose whether and where to send it using Apple's share sheet.
Fatty does not automatically send that report to us. If you contact support, we receive the contact information and content you choose to send and use it to respond, investigate your request, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send private photos, videos, passwords, or your full backup archive. Contact us to ask about or request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable retention obligations.
If you test Fatty through TestFlight, Apple may provide us with beta feedback, crash reports, and testing information through TestFlight. That is separate from Fatty's optional diagnostics export and is subject to Apple's TestFlight terms and privacy information.
Retention and deletion
Your external archive remains on the destination until you remove it. Deleting Fatty does not delete that archive, and Fatty never automatically deletes original photos or videos from your Photo Library.
Local app information follows iOS storage behavior. Some Keychain information may remain after app deletion. We do not operate a Fatty server account or remote media copy to delete. Requests about information separately sent to support can be directed to the contact below.
Integrity is not encryption
Before marking a copied media resource verified, Fatty compares a SHA-256 hash of the received source bytes with a hash calculated by reading the saved destination file back. This checks the copy; it is not encryption or a guarantee against later drive failure or modification.
Fatty does not encrypt the external archive. Anyone with access to the drive may be able to read its contents, depending on the drive's protections. Keep the drive secure and retain another trusted copy of important media.
Children and policy changes
Fatty is a general-purpose utility, not a service directed to children. It does not create user accounts or knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.
If these practices change, we will update this policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures. The effective date identifies the current policy.
